1939 Harley Knucklehead Bobber
"Ace" from Connecticut, United States made available these photos of his 1939 Harley Knucklehead Bobber motorcycle. With that fat front tire, fenderless springer fork and oldschool drum brakes this is a true classic Harley bobber.
Ace: "This is a 1939 Harley-Davidson E61 OHV old school style bobber.
This Bike has Many NOS and Original parts, with just a minimum of reproduction parts.
The 1000cc knucklehead engine has matching belly numbers, original unaltered engine numbers, and no cracks or welds. It has correct small port heads with no broken fins, and standard H-D cylinders in excellent condition. Correct oil pump, nickel plated Linkert M-5 Carb, and original intake.
The transmission is completely rebuilt, and the tranny case is in perfect condition with no cracks or welds (the case has a July 1948 date code) and it has a late Knuckle kicker cover, a jockey shifter, and NOS foot clutch assembly. It has an original 6 volt system with rebuilt 32E generator and NOS Delco-Remy relay."
"1938-40 rigid frame, and NOS inline springer fork, with rare and mint Flanders handlebars with matching 3.5" risers. Original '56 gas tanks, speedo and dash with the 1956 slash paint scheme, with pinstriping on the rear fender. This machine has correct cadmium plating and parkerizing throughout. This bike has all new brakes, chains, sprockets, and clutch."
Note the shape of those rocker boxes on top of the cylinder heads, just like the knuckles of a closed fist.
