1942 Model E Harley Knucklehead
Tim from Framingham, MA, United States made available these photos of this beautiful classic 1942 Model E Harley Knucklehead Bobber motorcycle. The original 61 cubic inch (1000cc) Knucklehead engine of this Harley Davidson E model has been upgraded to 80 cubic inch (1340cc). According to Tim, this bike is loud, light and fast!
Tim: "This is not a museum bike. It is a dependable rider. 1942 E motor, 1 of 164 made according to the Harley-Davidson Data Book. Matching belly numbers. Per Palmer's books, most 4's are closed for the years 1942-1944.
Unaltered late 1954 straight leg wishbone frame with all tabs. Internal wiring. 1939 in-line front end, straight and true. The neck lock works."
Tim: "This motor was completely rebuilt by Lakeside Machine and stroked the old fashioned way with 80" HD Flathead flywheels. Knucklehead Power barrels, SS Pistons, Black Diamond valves and roller guides, M74B Linkert carburator and Goodsen air cleaner cover. The oil filter was added for extra engine protection. Rebuilt HD 4 speed transmission with Andrews gears and jockey shift."
Tim: "Nations fender tip, vintage tailgunner/rocket lights, beehive taillight (Both lenses are glass). Rocket arrow fender ornament, Fox glass license plate jewels."
