Harley Knucklehead Models
On this page you will find an overview of Harley Knucklehead Models as produced between 1936 and 1947. During these twelve years the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company produced the Knuckleheads alongside the Flathead engines. In 1948 the Knucklehead engine was replaced by the Panhead engine.

In 1936, the Harley Davidson Motor Company introduced the EL model motorcycle with the 61 OHV engine which a bit later on came to be known as
the "Knucklehead".
This Over Head Valve V twin had a displacement of 61 cubic inches, or 1000cc.
